Zorbax Phases

Zorbax Traditional Columns packed by Hichrom

Features:

  • Zorbax spherical porous silica are manufactured from small extremely uniform colloidal silica micro-beads which are agglutinated in a Du Pont patented organic polymerisations process. The organic polymer is then removed by a controlled sintering process to yield mechanically stable silica particles. Zorbax is manufactured by Agilent Technologies Inc in addition to the Hichrom manufactured Zorbax columns. Hichrom continues to offer the traditional range manufactured by Agilent Technologies

Zorbax Poroshell

Features:

  • Excellent for LC-MS, column bleed is minimal even at high temperatures

Features:

Zorbax Microbore, Capillary and Nano HPLC Columns

Features

  • High resolution columns
  • High sensitivity for small samples sizes
  • Ideal for LC-MS and LC-MS-MS
  • Capillary and nanocolumns for proteomics
  • Ideal for low flow rates such as required in particle beam and electrospray LC-MS.
  • These columns should be used with appropriate equipment
  • Most C8 and C18 Zorbax phase are available in these column configuration
  • 1 mm columns are made of Stainless Steel
  • 0.3 and 0.5 mm Capillary column are glass lined SS columns
  • Trap enrichment columns (5 x 0.3 mm)  are made of PEEK
  • Nano columns have been developed for Nanoflow LC
  • Nano Columns are made of PEEK coated with fused silica of 100 or 75 um id with standard  SS end fittings
  • Flow rates of 100 nl/min to 1 ul/min are recommended
